The most popular water purification system is now available in Australia.
The New South Wales Government has launched the new purifier which can filter water up to 90% of the time, according to a government statement.
The device uses a small number of specially designed water filtration devices and filters out 99.9% of water, the statement said.
This is a breakthrough technology and has the potential to provide water purifiers in the future for a greater range of consumers, including those with limited or no access to clean water, Mr Turnbull said.
Water purifiers will be available in public health centres across the country.
New South Wales is the first state in Australia to offer a water purifying system, with the Queensland Government planning to roll out the system next year.
